Accept a lease your landlord recorded
When a landlord adds your current lease to Holuway, you confirm it is yours before it joins your account.
A landlord who moves to Holuway can record a lease you already signed with them, so you can pay rent and ask for repairs online. If you already have a Holuway account with that email, we email you to ask whether the lease is yours. Nothing is added to your account, and nothing is charged, unless you accept.
No Holuway account yet? You get an invitation to set a password instead: see Set your password from your invitation.
Accept or decline
- Step 1Open Review the lease in the email. If your account has no password yet, you set one first.
- Step 2Sign in with the email address the email was sent to. Is this your lease? shows the home, the lease dates, the monthly rent and its due day, the deposit your landlord holds, and any balance carried over.
- Step 3Select Yes, this is my lease to accept. If it is not yours, select This is not my lease, then Decline.
Once you accept, select Open my lease. Rent is charged on Holuway from the day you accept; months you already lived there are never charged here. A balance carried over is added to your lease only if you accept.
If you decline, nothing is added to your account and nothing is charged. We let your landlord know.
